✨ Mrs. Robison’s class wrapped up our Classic Tales unit with a celebration day! ✨
We watched Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, inspired by The Wind in the Willows, enjoyed themed snacks, and colored character illustrations from the story. 📚🎨🍿 Our students loved connecting literature to fun activities—and we love watching their excitement for language arts grow!

This year in preschool we also have a western theme! We were excited to welcome back our “wanted” students!
We are ready to saddle up and have a great year!

In 4th grade we are working hard! We just finished our first writing project!! Each student wrote a detailed personal narrative about their favorite, least favorite or most interesting food memory! Yesterday they had the opportunity to share their narrative with the class, they did GREAT!

We have an incredibly rare opportunity to participate in the 9/11 Remembrance Event being held at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. This is not just for students, it is for all our families. Please take some time today , Thursday, September 11th through Saturday, September 13th from 9 am to 9 pm to attend this wonderful event. We are so grateful to the Major Brent Taylor Foundation for putting on this event and helping us to "REMEMBER".

Meadow Brook opened its doors on August 22, 2016. Because we have completed 9 full years of teaching and learning, here are 9 things to note about our school:

1. Our one mascot is Murphy the Mustang.
2. We have had two amazing and dedicated principals.
3. There are three playgrounds for students to enjoy.
4. Four facilitators have supported our school community.
5. Five teachers have been here since the beginning.
6. 6th grade was part of Meadow Brook until moving to the middle school in 2021.
7. Around 700 students learn and grow here each year.
8. The building covers 86,000 square feet.
9. We’re grateful for nine years of teaching, learning, and connection!

Our 5th graders have started learning the songs they will perform at Hope of America at the end of the year. Hope of America is a patriotic program that celebrates the core values that make America strong. They have 14 songs, some of them with actions, to memorize, so it is a big undertaking! They will also be performing one of the songs at our school Constitution Day assembly. They have loved practicing the lyrics and actions, and they are doing a great job! We are so excited to see them perform!

Miss Jacklin’s class got to learn about sunflowers this week! They had such a fun time making their own and learning why they are called sunflowers. Now they’re looking for all the places they can find them!

We have had a wonderful first few weeks in Miss Farnsworth's class. One of my favorite things about this class is how supportive we are of each other as we dive into the learning pit. For example, we read out loud to each other for the first time today, and everyone did so great! There were so many students brave enough to read in front of their peers, everyone cheered people on when we made mistakes, and celebrated as we worked to improve our reading! The process of making so many people into a class family can be so rewarding!

Third grade has officially started one of our favorite traditions- Culture Day! On Culture Day, visitors teach us about different countries and cultures. This week, we learned about Mongolia and Guatemala. We enjoyed discovering new traditions, foods, and ways of life. Third graders are excited to continue learning on future Culture Days throughout the year!

In Mrs. Albrecht's 4th grade class her students learned to see the human body like a machine—where muscles, tendons, and bones all work together like parts in a robot! 🦾 They built their own “robot fingers,” and by pulling a string, watched the joints bend just like real tendons pulling on bones!

Saddle Up and Ride for Reading Success!

Our incredible Reading Technicians have been riding the trail to literacy with skill and determination! This week, they’ve saddled up to administer our reading assessments, making sure every student is on the right path to success. From rounding up data to guiding young readers, their hard work and dedication keep our students' reading strong.

A big YEE-HAW to these trailblazers for all they do—every day, they help our students gallop toward their goals. Thanks for keeping the reading roundup running smooth!

The Kindergartners went on a scavenger hunt to find Pete the Cat. They learned about the different rooms they’ll be going to throughout the school year and all about our school helpers. They now are ready to “Rock their school shoes” and that if there’s a problem do they have to worry? “Goodness no! It’s all good”

Mrs. Halls class read the story “Our Class Is A Family” and talked about how they can be good classmates. They celebrated with friendship keychains!

This week in Music Class the students have been remembering our number one rule in class: TO HAVE FUN! I believe that music should be fun, enjoyable and relatable to everyone! The old pros knew exactly how to behave and we had fun seeing how many students I ran into over the summer at various places around the valley. They also loved seeing how many names I could remember--I think I did pretty good! The new friends were able to introduce themselves to me and I could work on learning their names. Everyone loved playing the beat to "Golden" and belting out the lyrics that they knew. We also played with rubber bands to understand sound waves.

First grade is working on building strong math procedures and routines. Mrs. Oman’s class completed an activity and showcased their work to each other in a museum-style walk. Great job, first graders!
